We’re half way there!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On behalf of the World House Music Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce a gift of $5,981 to the Piano/Scholarship fund for Tanzania!  The gift is from the BA Edstrom music fund of the Botkyrka congregation in Sweden, and it brings us to 50% of our $35,000 goal!  This enabled us to make another $6,000 payment on the piano on July 2, 2016.

As many of you know, this piano/scholarships for Tanzania is a small part of a much larger project: the building of the first university level Cultural Arts Centre (CAC) in the country.  Ground breaking took place in January of this year, and there has been significant progress.  Soon I will be posting pictures of the current state of the construction.  Part of the project is a 1,200 seat multi-purpose auditorium.  This is where the piano will live.

I’m planning to go back to Tanzania sometime after the CAC is completed, and the piano is in place.  My dream is to perform “Called to a Vision: Celtic Ngoma,” in that space, on the piano that we helped send.  My dream is that it be performed by Tanzanians, along with African Americans and Irish Americans, and anyone else who wants to make a joyful, musical declaration of hope! Perhaps some of you would like to go to Tanzania to be part of the event!  And while there…..visit the Serengeti or Ngorongoro!  I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks to everyone for your part of this exciting project! We’re half way there!

Peblejah!
